About the dinner
The Annual Dinner is CUHS's flagship evening — a tradition dating back to the Society's refounding in 2011, held every Michaelmas term. We hire a Hungarian chef, pour wines flown in from Villány and Tokaj, and invite a guest speaker (last year: Zsófia Kardos, the Hungarian Ambassador's Cultural Attaché).
Menu
The menu will be published two weeks before the event. Expect: a cold starter, a warm starter, a classic main (slow-cooked beef pörkölt or stuffed cabbage), a cheese course, and dobos torta. Vegetarian and dietary options are always catered for — tell us when you book.
Dress code
Full black tie, or national dress if you have it. Jeans and trainers aren't quite right for this one.
After
The Buttery Bar is reserved from 10:30 pm; the committee will adjourn there until 1:00 am. All are welcome to join.
